A- Bring your Passport! You will need a valid passport to enter the Republic of Panama. You should also be sure to bring personal items such as prescription medicines, sun screen (including sun screen for your lips), and insect repellant. Due to the intensity of the sun it is advisable to bring some light weight long sleeved shirts and long pants, along with some face and head protection to wear while we are offshore. We never know exactly when the rainy season is going to start or stop, so it is advisable to bring your rain gear with you. It is also advisable to bring non-marking closed toed type boating shoes.
Q- Should I bring my fishing rods and tackle?
A- We know that every angler has their favorite rods and tackle and you are more than welcome to bring it with you. However we supply each angler with rods and tackle. Each of our offshore boats is fully equipped with a complete accompaniment of professional series rods and of tackle.
Q- Can I bring my catch back home with me?
A- Yes, you can bring the fish that you catch home. Our friendly staff will assist you with preparing your catch for shipment back home.
Q- Will someone be meeting me at the David Airport?
A- Yes! We will meet you at the David Airport upon your arrival. We will assist you with collecting your luggage and getting you to your hotel or out to the lodge.
Q- How much time should I allow for travel purposes?
A- The amount of time required to travel to David Panama depends on your originating flights location and your arrival time in Panama City, Panama. If you arrive in Panama City to late to make that days connections on one of the domestic airlines going to David, then you will have to stay overnight in Panama City. However if you arrive in Panama City by 2:30 pm or earlier in the day you should have ample time to make the 30 minute transfer from the Tocuman International Airport to the Albrook Regional Airport and on to the City of David. Please allow sufficient time to clear Panamanian Immigrations and Customs. The Enriqui Malik Airport in David is expected to open its new international terminal in late 2011 or 2012. With the opening of this new terminal you will be able to book direct flights from the US to David Panama. The airport code for the David Airport is DAV.
Q- Should I exchange my foreign currency for Panamanian currency?
A- US Currency is widely used and accepted in all Panamanian cities and regions, therefore currency exchange is not necessary. However for those guests arriving from international locations outside of Panama or the United States, you should check with the Pan-American Chamber of Commerce or your country's embassy regarding currency exchange prior to your arrival in Panama.
